Description
This circa 1880 image depicts Benjamin Welch, a member of Union Lodge No 58, which was chartered in 1855 as one of the first Freemasonry Lodges in Sacramento. Welch was a Master Mason for the Lodge in 1882 and a representative of the Masonic Hall Association in 1874. He also was a master car builder for the Central Pacific Railroad.
