Description
This vista shows Castle Rock silhouetted against a moonlit ocean with the Malibu coastline in the background. Castle Rock used to stand beside the Roosevelt Highway at the water's edge near the present-day location of the Getty Center Villa. Castle Rock was demolished in 1945 in order to expand the highway, renamed the Pacific Coast Highway. The photo is likely from the 1920s.
