Description
Image of the Milestone Mo-tel (later renamed the Mo-Tel Inn) on Monterey Street, off of Highway 101, in San Luis Obispo, California, with automobiles parked in front and bell tower. This was the first "motel" ever to be called such and opened in December 1925.
"Unique automobile hotel, San Luis Obispo, Cal." and "2"--text, on negative. Title transcribed from negative; date devised by cataloger based on year the motel opened and style of cars in image.
