Description
This 1956 photograph shows, as seen from the west, the frieze of the Oak Park Branch of the Sacramento Public Library, located at 3301 Fifth Ave. The neoclassical brick building was constructed for $75,000 in 1929/30 to offer more space for both a library and recreational facility. The new location, opening on April 22, 1930, held an initial collection of 67,000 volumes.
