Description
Erasure of the lynch victim intended to raise awareness of the history of lynching and other forms of summary justice in California. Josh (Joshua Robertson) was of African descent and lynched in Rich Bar, California in 1852. The original drawing appeared in the journal of Adolphus Windeler, the German sailor who tied the knot.
