Right Brethren Schaberg's [house], then Brethren Birnbaum's [house], then Brethren Rauh's [house]."). The picture shows a street and three houses with thatched roofs along it on the right. In front of the entrance doors of the first two houses stairs leading up to the doors. Next to them on the left gardens and wooden fences surrounding them. The first house has a fence to the left and right of the entrance door. A small window can be seen in its roof. There is also a fence surrounding the garden in front of the third house. In front of all the three houses trees. Between the first and the second house a wooden construction with a bell. On the left of the street grass, bushes and trees. Written on the card board: "16.2.34. P. Theile." Willibald Paul Schaberg (1900-?) was a missionary in South Africa West from 1929 to 1939 and again from 1948 onwards. It is not known when he stopped working or died. Karl Hermann Birnbaum (1868-1939) was a missionary from 1897 to 1939. He was first a missionary in Elim and the head of the school and the mill. In 1900 he worked in Goedverwacht and the outstations. In 1905 he started working in Moravian Hill and Maitland, Cape Town. In 1914 he went back to Elim where he died in 1939. His wife Sara Maria Eleonore Birnbaum (1873-1938) worked in the mission service in Ipiana, East Africa from 1894 to 1896 and then in South Africa from 1897 to 1938. Friedrich Reinhold Rauh (1860-1925) was in the mission service in South Africa from 1886 to 1910. He was a teacher at the assistants school in Genadendal from 1886 to 1890. From 1890 to 1897 he worked in Moravian Hill, Cape Town, and then became the head of the mission station in Enon where he stayed until 1910. He died 1925 in Breslau. His wife Luise Cornelie Rauh (1870-1938) was a music teacher und worked in the mission service from 1890 to 1910.
