Truth Lutheran Church in Kowloon, Head Church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK), 1981. - On 27th February 1954, representatives from all the Lutheran congregations in Hong Kong gathered at Tao Fong Shan to establish the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK). The ministry of spreading the Gospel in the area began among refugees, who came from China in the early 1950s. At present (2014), the ELCHK has 52 congregations with a membership of over 15,000 and almost 100 evangelists and pastors. Over the years the church has been involved in school education programs, diaconal/social services and other activities as well.
