This Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument is located at 7570 McGroarty Terrace. Known as McGroarty Arts Center, which was managed by the Department of Recreation and Parks from 1953 until 1974, when management was transferred to the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles. Over twenty years later, McGroarty Arts Center was privatized and has since been operated by a non-profit organization in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles. Photograph caption dated August 16, 1948 reads, "The 'Glory Corner' - In one corner of his study, poet hung his various certificates and honors including three honorary college degrees.
