The Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture is a two-year community college in Woodland Hills, California. It opened in September 1947, with 70 students and 18 faculty members and is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The school's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry, and still retains a large swatch of open fields for hands-on working farm training. In 1956 the school was renamed Los Angeles Pierce College. Photograph caption dated November 20, 1955 reads, "One of Pierce Junior College's coeds pictured above will be chosen queen of first Delta Tau Sweetheart dance at San Fernando Valley County Club Friday. Left to right, hopefuls are Shari Aytes, Kay Poe, Myrna Colina, Marcia Leach and Sue Corley."
