Aly Khan, known by his full title Prince Ali Solomone Aga Khan was the son of Aga Khan III, the head of the Ismaili Muslims. Aly was a wealthy international playboy who served as a Pakistani diplomat to the United Nations but is best known in California for being married to Rita Hayward from 1949-1953.
Photograph caption dated August 16, 1952 reads, "Aly 'Self-Conscious' As He And Rita Face Cameramen - This was not a happy day for Prince Aly Khan (arrow). Not only did it appear that his efforts for a reconciliation with Actress Rita Hayworth were blasted, but Aly - the man who has hunted wild game in Africa, bet fortunes at Monte Carlo and stared some of the most beautiful women in the world right in the eye - got scared when he and Rita faced this battery of photographers today. "You make me self-conscious," he said."
