Photograph caption dated April 27, 1957 reads, "Tom [sic] Roelen, San Fernando High, leads two talented North Hollywood Huskies into the last lap of yesterday's 880 in which Roelen ran a brilliant 1:58.8 for the fastest time this year in the Valley League. Roelen, one of the best prep milers in the nation, switched to the half-mile, just for the one race. Huskies trailing Roelen are Lin Adroen, who wound up second, and Ken O'Brien, who finished third."
