Description
Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989
When center Marcel Dionne left the Detroit Red Wings to sign with the Kings in 1975, L.A. had its first bona fide superstar. In 12 seasons with the Kings, Dionne tallied 50 goals six times; he is the team's all-time leader in goals, assists, and total points. Alas, while the "Little Beaver" led the Kings to numerous playoff appearances, he is considered the greatest NHL player never to have won the Stanley Cup. Photo dated: November 25, 1984.
