[The first girl in Kenya to attain this teaching qualification]… she has been chosen as the one Girl Guide to represent Kenya at the Juliette Low Session at Adelboden, Switzerland, end of July, beginning of August.” Portrait of Ruth Arthur, daughter of one of the earliest teachers at Chogoria, in a Girl Guide uniform. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
