“Rev. R. [?] Calderwood & Christians.” Large group portrait taken in the shade of a tree, sitting in the front, on the ground, is the Rev. Robert Calderwood, who was ordained to the Kenya mission on 22 February 1922 and based at Tumutumu. He served in the Highland Light Infantry during the War and was awarded the O.B.E in 1954. The rest of the group are members of the Kirk Session and are indigenous men and women. ❧ This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa.
