Description
Two men in redingotes from 1828 or 1829. The man on the right faces forward and wears a brown coat with a pinched waist and gray trousers. He wears tall black boots and riding spurs. In his left hand he holds a short stick that could be a riding crop. His coat has leg-of-mutton sleeves and two side pockets. Showing out of his right pocket is a pink handkerchief. A matching pink ribbon adorns his lapel. The lining of his jacket is made of brown satin. He wears a pale yellow vest that is lined with red and a white shirt with a white spotted cravat. He holds a quizzing glass or monocle in his right hand that is attached to a thin green ribbon. He wears a black top hat. The man on the left is in the background, walking away with his back turned. He wears tall black boots with spurs, gray trousers, and a gray redingote in the same style as the first man, with pleats in the back. He carries a thin cane or walking stick and wears a black top hat.
