Description
Scenes of the Enman No Tomo Senior Center and the Enmanji Temple are shown. George Hamamoto, Sam Miyano, Martin and Dorothy Shimizu are interviewed about their experiences during and just after World War II. Hamamoto describes the history of the temple. Transcript taken from "Giri: Sonoma County Japanese American Citizens League Oral History Project". May differ slightly from media file. Audio file is available in item: ssu_nbea_0323.
The North Bay Ethnic Archive features material related to the forced relocation of northern San Francisco Bay Area residents to Incarceration Camp Granada (Amache), Colorado. It includes correspondence, photographs, and reports. Some of the original items are housed with the Sonoma County Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), and were borrowed for digitization courtesy of the JACL. The remainder are housed in Special Collections.
