Photograph shows a group portrait of the new cabinet of the Girl Reserves which is composed of officers & committee chairman of the San Jose Student Club.. They are outside perhaps in a building courtyard. From right to left the girls in the front row seated in wicker furniture are: Betty Pond, Girl Reserve secretary, Christine Raithel, Wanda McCoy, Doris Casey, Virginia MacNair and Melva Donaldson. The Girls standing are: Hazel Gross, Lyolla Casey, Madelyn Burns, Wanda Griffiths, Gertrude Mitchell, Margaret Waldorf, Marjorie Johns, and Ruth French. Single pinholes in top corners, and one in the middle of the photograph on the bottom. In 1918 the YWCA of the USA organized the Girl Reserves to bring 12 to 18-year-olds into the national movement, with sailor-style uniforms and three-fingered salutes.
