At big festivals the larger temples are crowded by devotees, arriving to show respect to the gods. Meeting this religiousness of the East is an overwhelming experience for many of the young Westerners. Most of them have, at school and during preparation for confirmation, heard something about Christianity, but without understanding much, their knowledge often result in a distorted picture of, what Christian faith is about.
