Jacobs, of North Hollywood, will be competing for a $10,000 first prize in the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Sept. 24 through Oct. 7 on the campus of Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Tex. He will be one of 86 of the world's leading young pianists, representing 17 countries, entered in the contest. The competition, now planned to be held each four years, is sponsored by the Fort Worth Piano Teachers Forum, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and Texas Christian University."
