Description
Taken in 1950, this photograph provides an aerial view of the Capitol Inn at 1130 West Capitol Ave. in West Sacramento, California. The hotel, designed to look like the California State Capitol building, was located just across the highway from the Hotel El Rancho. In the upper portion of the photograph is Capitol Sky Park which specialized in aviation sales, service and flight instruction. It could accommodate up to 66 small planes and served as a primary travel terminus to those practicing business and politics in downtown Sacramento.
