Description
Photograph caption reads: "Caltrans officles [sic] (front row suits) and workers where [sic] Caltrans helmets and vests at memorial services held at 200 block of 1st Street". The ceremony honored three state employees killed working along highways in 1978. Around 400 state highway maintenance workers attended the 35-minute program held on the plaza of the former state office building in downtown Los Angeles. The three workers honored were Don Beasley, Kanika F. Burrough, and Johnnie L. Haynes. Photograph dated: April 21, 1979.
