Group portrait of officers in the British Army with wives and mission workers, a couple of children are also present. Behind the group can be seen a one storey building with the sign ‘Soldiers Prayer Room’. Standing second from the end, middle left, is Dr Youngson (1852-1920) who was ordained to the Punjab in 1875 and was based in Jammu. Youngsonabad, a village in the Nankana Sahib District of Pakistan, was founded in 1898 and is named in his honour. In 1905 he was the Moderator of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church, India, and he retired in 1907. He returned to India after his retirement and worked there till his death in 1920.
