Description
Photograph of a captured German Taube airplane at the World War I Allied War Exposition in Los Angeles, August 1-10, 1918. The bullet-broken aircraft sits at center, with its tail poking into the air as it lies useless in the grass. Two large crosses adorn its wings, and pieces of debris lie on the ground in front of it. A row of Ally flags runs on a line behind it, while the tops of several flagpoles poke into the sky in the distance.
