Description
Photograph of beach groins at Las Tunas Beach which keep water from eroding from the coast, 1953. The shimmering water splashes against the miniature cliff of dark sand on the right. The sand is spotted with footsteps and grooves in the foreground, but imperfections are wiped away by the ocean on the opposite side of the beach groin at center. A large structure stands on the rocky portion of the beach in the background with the beach with what appears to be a dock behind it. Photoprint reads "At Las Tunas Beach, Southern California, the Pacific licks angrily at the sand -- but a groin saves that portion seen in the distance".
