Photograph caption dated April 30, 1964 reads, "The S.S. Catalina, big, white Ship of Romance, one of the last great excursion vessels, will make her maiden voyage of the 1964 season on May 1, and then sail daily until mid October from her Wilmington berth to Catalina Island. May 1 will also mark the start of the three-day Fiesta de Oro on the island which celebrates the 50th anniversary of founding of Avalon."; See images #00117688 through #00117689 for all photos in this series.
