Description
A cesspool cover at Bernal's California Marl Fertilizer Company on San Ignacio Road. A metal handle is in the center of the cover and the initials P.A.B are carved in it, the initials of Pedro Alcantar Bernal who was the grandson of Bruno Bernal and took over ownership of Rancho Santa Teresa and the Bernal lands after the death of his father Ygnacio Bernal. Under Pedro's ownership, a number of businesses were initiated including Santa Teresa Springs Water Company, the Bernal mine, and The Bernal Marl Fertilizer Company.
