Photograph article dated July 13, 1963 partially reads, "It is a different kind of world in which Valley Plaza merchants are awakening these days. The Laurel Canyon Blvd. underpass is finished, and once again customers are heading toward Valley Plaza. The blockaded roadway, the complex detour, the decrease in sales, all seem a nightmare now - one that lasted too long. And, like a nightmare, most of the merchants would like to forget about it, now that the dawn is here, and the sun is rising once more over Valley Plaza." Photograph caption reads, "The underpass makes it easier even for bicyclists. Elimination of complicated detours around areas should put business 'on wheels' again."; See images #00136598 through #00136600 for all photos in this series.
