Description: Black and white photograph showing a Nigerian nurse at the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital in Nigeria, run by the Methodist Missionary Society (formerly the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society.) The picture shows the seated nurse holding a premature baby on her lap. A young woman stands next to her, carrying a blanket, the other of the child. The caption next to the image reads: "Nurse Elfrida with Premature baby 7/9. Mother standing by." This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, then Matron of the Ama Achara hospital.
