Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated February 14, 1949 reads, "This cocktail bar in the 3800 block on Whittier boulevard was a mass of blackened ruins today after a fire believed of incendiary bomb origin blasted the place. Thomas Bosque, who was knocked out of his bed in an adjoining building, said he saw a black sedan speed away under cover of darkness shortly after the fire. Authorities believed a bomb was tossed from the car Bosque saw."
