Possibly poster advertising The Owl Drug Company. Shows graphic of owl on branch with "The Owl Drug Company stores at Van Ness and Sutter, Mission, and 16th Sts., Market, opp. 5th Sts. San Francisco, Cal." Below image "Louis Roesch Co. Lith. S.F." and "Varney & Green Adv.".
"H.S. Hoyt" - stamped on back.
Possibly commissioned by Varney & Green to document their signs. Company was owned by Jacob Charles Green and Thomas H.B. Varney between 1904 and 1908. Firm did outdoor advertising, bill posting, painted signs, street cars, railroad bulletins, fence advertising. Operated in San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, Los Angeles and various small towns in California.
