Photograph caption dated October 17, 1961 reads, "Sunbonneted Frances Muir Pomeroy presents a proclamation to Roscoe W. Blanchard and his wife, Lotella, for their many years of service to the Valley, at the 15th annual Pioneer Day Picnic at North Hollywood Park Sunday. The Blanchards came to North Hollywood, then known as Lankershim, in 1911 and established a lumber company."
