View of Roosevelt Highway, later renamed the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), looking south toward the Santa Monica Pier. The highway runs parallel with the many beach clubs, restaurants, and residences on the coast. Marion Davies' mansion, located at 415 Pacific Coast Highway, is visible in the center of the photograph, adjacent to (and to the left of) the large parking lot. Photograph dated 1951.
