Photograph caption dated October 28, 1957 reads, "Standing at head table at right, civic leaders and officials and players of the Los Angeles Dodgers, toss baseballs to the crowd of 1100 attending the civic luncheon in Statler Hotel (Wilshire Grand) to welcome the major league club. Among those at the head table were Branch Rickey and Mayor Poulson."
