Description
This circa 1915 postcard shows the 18-acre Joyland amusement park, located in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. Prominent is the Scenic Railway, a popular figure-eight roller coaster. Joyland opened on the evening of June 6, 1913 to a stunning, yet comfortably accommodated, first day attendance of nearly 10,000 citizens.
