McCurry no. 6056 -- view 2 (2010-1853). Shows stacks of wood, stumps, trees in distance. McCurry no. 5081 -- view 3 (2010-1854). Field of tree stumps. McCurry no. 5084 -- view 4 (2010-1855). Shows pile of brush, hoisting cables, engine or furnace in distance. McCurry no. 5085. Also have negative: no. 26,895 (view 1, 4x5 in.), 26,896 (view 2, 4x5 in.), 26,897 (view 3, 4x5 in.), 26,898 (view 4, 4x5 in.). West Sacramento Company incorporated in 1910 for purpose of developing land west of Sacramento River. Between 1910 and 1913 completed reclamation project that included construction of levees, irrigation system, roads. In 1911 organized area as Reclamation District 900. Company cleared land of tules, cottonwoods and oaks.
