This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text printed on photo: "J 230 1200 Apartments for fire Refugees, Park Speedway, S.F." "16" penciled on photo. Text written under photo: "Shacks for Refugees on Speedway G.G. Park 1906." Two rows of barracks-like buildings are seen with a wide road in between. A row of bushes interspersed with tents runs alongside the shacks on the left, next to which are benches. Two elderly women, one of whom has crutches, are sitting on the nearest bench. Men are sitting on a few of the benches farther down. An odd looking light pole sits at extreme left. Prayer Book Cross can be seen in the distance.
