Description
Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on December 4, 1966 states: "This tunnel entrance, near the American River, leads to a gold mine beneath the community of Folsom. It is one of several tunnels dug a century ago by Chinese miners, tunnels which are said to undermine nearly all the old part of town. This entrance was boarded up to protect curiosity-seekers from cave-ins and other hazards."
