Show description: Reflections on shelter and community by doers and visionaries. Profile: Juanita Tate is the executive director of Concern Citizens of South Central Los Angeles, the first black environmentalist group in the nation. Tate has been a motive force in the organization’s efforts to provide low-income housing. Commentary: Joseph Smith is an architect frustrated by urban congestion and suburbia’s lack of style. He wants to create exciting eco-villages designed for individuals rather than cars. Vignette: John Picard is the builder of Eco-Home, gives the viewer a tour through his new, all-steel, ecologically responsible home in Venice.
