Description
Photograph article dated July 15, 1964 partially reads, "Stan Getz, the jazz saxophonist who once again blows B-flat magic into the airy world of best-selling records, played mellow for a SRO crowd on his opening night at Shelly's Manne-Hole in Hollywood. A half-block-long line waited for seats in the small club to hear Getz and the charming girl singer from Brazil, Astrud Gilberto, swing together on "The Girl From Ipanema," their hit song now number seven on popularity charts." Note: Photo caption reads "One of the ex-four brothers goes it alone."; See images #00121948 through #00121953 for all photos in this series.
