"The Motor Car comes to replace the tumtum - Dr Henderson in her car which was one of the first in Nagpur. Mrs Gardiner in the tumtum." Street view of motor car and traditional transportation of the tumtum - a carriage pulled by a horse. Doctor Agnes Henderson was the daughter of Sir William Henderson, and arrived in Nagpur in 1890. She established the Mure Memorial Hospital in 1896 and was responsible for raising significant sums of money to extend the hospital and build new wards. In 1929, the Church at Nagpur was named in memory of Doctor Henderson.
