Madame Chiang Kai-shek (center, in black coat) - dark, slender flower of modern China and one of the country's outstanding women - arrived in Los Angeles today to the warm tumult of a greeting unexcelled in the city's history. Citizens by the thousands cheered the wife of China's generalissimo as she graciously accepted the official greeting of the city on the steps of the City Hall, before a huge crowd of more than 20,000 persons jamming the streets.
