The headquarters for the Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, originally known as the First Federal Savings & Loan Building, was built in 1959 and demolished in 1998. The site became the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in 2001.
Looking northwest across Hollywood Boulevard revealing structures from west of Highland Avenue (left) to east of Las Palmas (center), December 1980. From left to right, Mann's Chinese Theatre, the 12-story office building serving as the headquarters of Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, the historic Hollywood First National Bank Building, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and various businesses and restaurants, including Pickwick Books, Los Burritos Mexican restaurant, The Vogue Theater, where ""It's My Turn"" is playing, and Musso & Frank Grill. Yellow ribbons have been placed on the trees along the boulevard in honor of the Iran Hostage Crisis.
