Three male guerrillas armed with assault rifles from the Farabundo Martí Liberation People's Forces (FPL) in the main plaza after taking La Palma, El Salvador, a town in Northern Chalatenango, ten miles from the Honduras border and 60 miles north of the capital. Behind them, other fighters hold a flag with the initials of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) and the blue and white Salvadoran flag. The guerrilas had just concluded a successful campaign in January 1983 taking Berlín, San Agustín, and La Palma. Tres guerrilleros armados con fusiles de asalto de las Fuerzas Populares de Liberación Farabundo Martí (FPL) en la plaza principal después de tomar La Palma, El Salvador, una ciudad en el norte de Chalatenango, a diez millas de la frontera con Honduras y 60 millas al norte de la capital. Detrás de ellos, otros combatientes sostienen una bandera con las siglas del Frente Farabundo Martí de Liberación Nacional (FMLN) y la bandera salvadoreña azul y blanca.
