Description
Photograph of a view of Hill Street looking north from the corner of Third Street in Los Angeles, December 12, 1938. Hill Street is at right and extends into the distance at center. It is crowded with a mixture of automobiles and streetcars. The sidewalks that line the street are bustling with pedestrians. Tall buildings can be seen on both sides of the street, and most house shops of some sort. A large metal light post is visible in the foreground at center. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Drugs", "Arrow Drug Co.", "Black Building", "Fountain Unch Club Breakfast", "Bromo Seltzer", "Seltzer Drugs", "Go", "F.P. Fay Bldg.", "11th & Hill", "Rainier Beer", and "American Auto Park".
