Photograph caption dated June 4, 1936 reads, "Here are shown the checks that were given to the State of California and the city and county of Los Angeles, paying back the sums the governmental divisions paid out for the 1932 Olympic Games. On top is the $1,053, 733 check given the state in return for the $1,000,000 bond issue and $53,733 premiums paid to help finance the games. The two other checks, for $103,107.83 each, were turned over to the city and county."
