Description
1989-1238. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 24. In the foreground is a sidewalk bordered by a picket fence; behind fence are leafy trees on the right and tree trunks on the left with foliage all around; in the middle stands a one story house of which little is seen except a window; behind house are trees of trees above. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Residence of Bob Bullard (colored) House erected in 1857. Bricks in the building came 'around the horn' from Boston.
