Description
Writer Aldous Huxley writes to EPH, wishing him a quick recovery. He asks if there are any books he would like to have sent, commenting that Grand Junction probably does not have the best library. He then retells a story of Gerald Heard's about visiting Aspen to see Albert Schweitzer and discuss Johann Wolfgang Goethe. He describes a biography he is writing on philosopher Maine de Biran and wonders about the individual's relationship with history and culture.
