Description
"Als Ausdruck der Freude wird nach der Tauffeier eine Art Tanz aufgeführt." ("After the baptism ceremony a kind of dance is performed to express joy."). Men, women and children (with their backs to the photographer) are standing together. Some of them hold sticks in their hands. Men wear European clothes, women and children traditional clothes.
Cf. photo nos. 10393, 10394 and 10395. -- Walter Marx (1898-1944) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in Rungwe/East Africa from 1929 until 1939. He married Gertrud Rahlfs in 1929.
