Description
A woman stands in three-quarter view with her face in profile as she creates a flower arrangement of yellow roses and daffodils in an ornately decorated vase. The vase and the table underneath both have Art Nouveau details. She models the French fashions of Mademoiselle Louise Piret, of Rue Richer, 43, Paris. She wears a long peach colored softly pleated dress with long lantern sleeves, gathered just beneath the elbow, and into the narrow cuffs. The dress has darker peach ribbon details on the sleeves and bows down the center of the bodice. The dress has panels of flowered scallop-edged lace as a wide collar, and appliques down the length of the sleeves and on the skirt. The lace on the skirt is in vertical bands down the front and back, and a horizontal band at knee level. The skirt has a slight train at the back. The waist or belt is barely visible behind her arm, but it seems to be darker peach ribbon. Her wide-brimmed peach toned straw hat has a tip-tilted brim and is decorated with bands of matching dark peach ribbon on the crown and in three bands to the edge of the brim. Flowers and green leaves decorate the back of the hat.
