Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on September 22, 1971 states: "The old, unused Southern Pacific Railroad depot in Gridley - an eyesore in its present condition - will miss a demolition fate, at least for the rest of this year. The Gridley City Council has given restoration proponents until the end of 1971 to produce a suitable plan to save the structure. The Gridley Art League and the Chamber of Commerce have proposed converting the old frame building into a multi-purpose community center at an estimated cost of $6,000. The city now owns the building."
